Shadi Byaav is a matrimony app for adult families. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and child marriage. This page describes the standards we apply and how to report a concern.
1. Who can use the app
- Accounts are for adults (18+) only.
- Matrimony profiles are accepted only for people of legal marriage age in India — 21 for men and 18 for women — as required by the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. Profiles below that age are refused, and any profile found to belong to a minor is removed.
2. What is prohibited
- Any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child, including CSAM, grooming, or sexual content involving minors.
- Arranging, promoting or seeking a marriage or engagement involving a minor.
- Using the app to contact, solicit or trade information about children for any harmful purpose.
3. How to report a concern
- In the app: open the profile and tap the report (flag) button, or use Account → Report a problem.
- By email: shadibyaav@gmail.com — no account needed.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police (112) or Childline (1098) first.
4. What we do
- Every report is reviewed by our moderators. Child-safety reports are treated as the highest priority.
- Violating profiles and content are removed and the responsible accounts are suspended or permanently banned.
- We preserve relevant information and report CSAM and child-exploitation cases to the appropriate authorities, including India's National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and law enforcement, and cooperate with their investigations.
5. Laws we comply with
We comply with applicable child-safety laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, and Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
